Knauf Insulation will be showcasing its whole house insulation solutions on stand F54 at this year’s CIH Housing Event on the 23rd to 25th June at Manchester Central, including Supafil Party Wall insulation, ThermoShell® External Wall Insulation and its Loft Storage System.
Phil Rigby, refurbishment product manager at Knauf Insulation, commented: “We’re looking forward to exhibiting at this year’s CIH Housing Event, as we have a lot of solutions for a variety of applications that can help solve many of our visitors’ problems. From uninsulated party wall cavities to leaky solid wall properties and poorly insulated loft spaces, we have many solutions that will allow householders to save money on their energy bills.”
Heat loss through uninsulated party wall cavities for existing homes has now been recognised by government as a genuine heat loss (party wall thermal bypass) and is included within RdSAP 9.92. As such, Knauf Insulation has developed a proven solution that eliminates this heat loss: Supafil Party Wall. Visitors to the stand will be able to learn about Knauf Insulation’s full-fill insulation solution and ask its technical experts any questions they may have about this new heat loss consideration and its resolution. Indeed, it is estimated that there are over 5 million homes in the UK built with a party cavity wall, which are losing money and carbon to party wall thermal bypass. Therefore, treating this heat loss is now the most cost effective ‘basic’ insulation measure that remains within the existing housing stock.
Phil continues: “Throughout the event, as well as showcasing our products, we will also be offering visitors the opportunity to have free assessments of the party wall cavities within their housing stock. Indeed for a limited period, funding can be claimed for the carbon saved from properties on both sides of a party wall – not to be missed!”
For solid wall properties, Knauf Insulation will be talking to visitors about its ThermoShellExternal Wall Insulation system, which is a cost effective solid wall insulation solution designed for the lifetime of a property. The system insulates the existing exterior façade, whether brick, stonework, concrete or clay blockwork, from the effects of weathering – extending the longevity of the building but also providing the opportunity to enhance and upgrade the appearance of the building.
What’s more in the light of research showing that the loss of storage space is one of the major barriers to homeowner take-up of loft insulation and with 82 per cent of householders reporting that they use their lofts for storage, Knauf Insulation has launched a new Loft Storage System that fully insulates to current recommended minimum standards and provides a storage deck in one application. Knauf Insulation will be presenting this new solution to visitors at the event this month and will demonstrate its effectiveness in thermally insulating the loft at ceiling height, whilst creating a robust storage platform.
