Section 6 Oct 2010

Knauf Insulation and Section 6 Energy - Domestic - 2010Section 6

Please note, the below information relates only to Scotland.

The new version of Section 6 Energy - Domestic 2010 came into effect on October 1st 2010 and imposes ever more stringent thermal performance on new and existing domestic buildings.

Section 6 offers the designer/developer a simplified means of compliance by adopting one of a package of measures which will be sufficient to show compliance when the proposed dwelling is compared to the notional dwelling, alternatively, a Standard Assessment Procedure calculation is generated based on the specification of the dwelling under consideration using approved software programs incorporating the appropriate methodology, i.e. SAP 2009.
