Open Eco Homes to showcase benefits of sustainability in Cambridge
The Open Eco Homes event is aimed at showcasing to people across Cambridge the many benefits of investing in sustainability improvements for their homes.
Taking place from September 18th to 24th, Cambridge News reports the event will highlight the many techniques and materials that can be made use of by all those wishing to live in a more affordable and sustainable manner in the future.
With a focus on high levels of home insulation and the use of cutting-edge technologies, each of the properties that is taking part in this year's showpiece has something to offer in terms of food for thought for all those that take the time to get involved.
Open Eco Homes coordinator Allan Shepherd told the news provider: "Meeting the householders this year will be a great experience for visitors. Every one of them has unique knowledge to pass on because every house is different and everyone has carefully chosen the home improvements right for them and their home.
"During their renovation or new build project they become experts in cosy home making."
All those that head along to learn more about the benefits of energy efficiency and carbon emissions reduction for their property will therefore be able to draw on the expert knowledge of those who have already been through this process.
It means households across the city could soon be investing more heavily in sustainability and home energy efficiency improvements - something that the organisers of the event hope to see happen sooner rather than later.
